Durgapuja and mahashtami
Mahashtami, the third day of durgapuja, the eighth day from Mahalaya is the most important day of Durgapuja; different families have their special ways of offering puja on this day. I have read of a family that releases a pair of kingfishers, in our family it is an offering of 108 lotuses and an arati with 108 pradeeps.
I have shared the details of Durgapuja held in my family home, a pure example of rural, family puja. This year I will share the URL of that post and small things related to Durgapuja. Hope you will join me in my journey.
Today is Mahanavami, fourth day of durgapuja. One more day to go…. then it will be waiting for another year.
And these precious days
Flew away in rapid speed like autumn cloud.
In case you are curious to know how durgapuja is held in Bengali families- I can give you a little view of my family puja – both are same blog post in two different blogs- you can try out the one that opens.
