We live in a society which gives excuses for the mischief makers, criminals, but forgets the victims.

One of such mischief which is really close to a crime if we judge the damage it does psychologically or physically is bullying.

Now I know how painful it is because I have lived with two direct bullies and two indirect bullies for too many years. No, it does not strengthen your personality it robs you off your self confidence and years of happiness. Even if your life is perfect hell you don’t have any right to make other’s life hell. That’s what I believe and follow. That’s what everyone should try to convey to bullies- bullies may be blind but others around him are not. So whenever they witness it they should stop it.

If children bully each other the results might not be deadly but in case of adults it may turn up really bad.

Recently security personnel of a bank in Kolkata shot two of his colleagues to death because “he has had enough of their bullying”… now, if he is speaking the truth this is an example of how painful bullying can be to the person who is getting bullied.

Don’t push others too much!

  1. I know these bullies too – from childhood had always had confrontation with them, and know very well what they can do to anyone’s morale. They are always there around you in some form or other – what I have learnt is to be patient till you get back your opportunity and then hit back as hard as you can – thats the only thing that can stop them! Never Ever let them dominate you !!

    1. unfortunately the first four bullies got away because of our parent’s khalis indian values- never ever disobey/disrespect elders even if she is three years older than you 😦

that hitting back is not in my nature, thats why i so earnestly plead the cases of victims like us who just want to live without bullying or being bullied.

  2. Bullying is complex and it is growing. It’s one thing to say that the bully suffers himself/herself from insecurity and is often a victim of another’s bullying behaviour, but that is cold comfort to their victim now. Standing up to the bully is probably the best course of action but for those of us who dislike confrontation, and I am one of them, that is easier said than done.

I like what you say about others who witness such behaviour stepping in too. Collective action may be the best strategy. It’s when the bully becomes out-numbered that there is a chance for intervention. One thing is certain. If allowed to continue the consequences are dire for all concerned.

    1. just think if my parents stepped in and stopped my siblings to behave like little monsters how happier my childhood would have been! the same thing if colleagues/classmates stand beside the victims i wonder how many bullies will find inspiration to keep bullying. as for authorative figures like bosses or teachers can play a huge role in stopping it.

we all suffer in life, then why dont we all become bullies? i have been bullied for so many years why did not i become a bully? its good if we learn very early that we have to bear our own crucifix and walk with dignity.
