Over two decades ago Mohammad Kalam from Nat community in Forbesganj, Bihar saw his mother and sister being sold into flesh trade, he could not save them but he became a messiah for the women of his community, an anti trafficking crusader, working from within this community where inter generation prostitution is a norm.

Through his work since 2003 he has helped police arrest 51 sex traffickers and placed 23 girls from Nat community in school.

He manages a school cum home for rescued girls, a shelter for the girls rescued from trafficking but his dreams has been crushed beyond repair by police atrocities, in place of helping him they arrested him just because one of the girls accused that a man named “kalam” has married her off to a person who later forced her into prostitution.
