Every time a scam is busted in India the thing that surprises me most is the way entire families work together to earn illegal money! Husband and wife, parents and children, siblings…

Is it same way all through the world or Indians have become a little too much corrupted, too greedy for money?

One will give excuses like poverty, unemployment but if young men and women cite those excuses one can understand, in my close encounter with all types of human beings of this country I have seen one too many old people, one leg dangling in pyre repulsively insane for money. They don’t have dependents, their kids are well off, so are they, they are not starving out in the street, most of them have hefty amount of money, money that will feed them for the rest of their lives yet they leave no stone unturned when it comes to make money in illegal, often conscience less ways!

I sincerely hope that after this hitting the bottom stage Indian society will again rise, in moral sense. In sense of the values it chants on its lips while its hands are busy counting black money!

  1. A very touching topic. I think this is happening all over the world. The sanctity of relationships is under scrutiny. The element of corruption is something if not looked at seriously and not taken care of at the higher level can ruin the whole society. Unchecked corruption can be devastating for the entire country, which is happening all over. But I would say the unprecedented corruption from higher to lower at such a level is the hallmark of subcontinent only, where the whole family gets into corruption collectively. So sad and so demoralizing for hard working honest people. I love your post, specially the theme that you have chosen. Take care.

  2. Thanks for posting this. A very wise man once pointed out that the world has enough for everyone’s need. Greed however, is a very difficult beast to satisfy and this particular problem goes all the way to the very top …
