The society has a very naïve way of treating the genders- they try to put everyone in the same formula. Men are like this or women are like this… that’s what you will hear everywhere.
But if we think and observe we will notice that human beings are different! From one person to another person- not from one gender to the other or one nation to the other nation! Two people under same circumstances can react in two absolutely different ways, the society can afford to play naïve but the law-makers should not.
When a love affair goes wrong, the society always blames the woman, the law always blames the man! Why?
There might have been a time when women were gullible but that rarely is the case these days. These days most of the girls know the consequences of a wrong step in love- they watch too many movies even the girls from remote villages!
When something ugly happens in a marital home the society mostly blames the wife, the law mostly blames the in-laws! Why?
I have seen women blackmailing their in-laws threatening them with dire consequences if they don’t give in to her demands (of course mostly a rogue son is helping her, but the more vicious ones don’t need that husband to make her in-laws dance to her tunes- all they need is a weak husband who won’t dare to go against her).
It’s necessary for the stability of a nation that its law department should act wise, should come to conclusions after studying every possible angle! It should not jump to conclusions based on its own belief or codebooks.
After watching the present day, and its people the law books are required to be revised and may be re written in India. Sometimes the judgments are pathetic and sometimes they are hilarious! We want to look up at the judge’s seat with expectation and respect! Not look down upon that seat with mockery or disrespect!
