mama never taught her anything
so little girl never knew before
it was late for her to know
that guilty hearts have ego sore!
She never thought speaking her mind
About virtue can make furious
Those without virtue, fallen in social eyes
And they may not be at all gracious!
She never knew that
If you chose to wrestle
With a bunch of easy ladies
Then it’s their men that hassle.
Spiteful and angry nymphs won’t strike
Egged by them their male concubines
Will pick up the deadly weapons
Poison your life like serpentines!
Rules of Ballad: I will request you to explore the rules of ballad yourself. I read quite a handful of them and thought that it’s quite a liberal style of poem with varying size of stanzas and other things. Go ahead and explore them. I have zeroed on two things- telling a story, using four line stanzas with rhyming 2nd+4th line.
