ocean of life

her boat dances on choppy waters
the mighty ocean roars
and on those dancing waves
her wild heart soars.

The harbor is too dull for her
She loves the ocean wild
On its waves she feels at home
Playful like a child!

Sometimes the ocean is calm
And she breathes with peace
Watches the clouds sail by
White cotton fleece!

Then things often go awry
darkness gathers like death
life becomes still as graveyard
waiting for last breath.

Next swing comes and things change
Back to normal again
Right after the thunder shower
Sunshine and bright day again!

Rules of Ballad: I will request you to explore the rules of ballad yourself. I read quite a handful of them and thought that it’s quite a liberal style of poem with varying size of stanzas and other things. Go ahead and explore them. I have zeroed on two things- telling a story, using four line stanzas with rhyming 2nd+4th line.
