It’s quite interesting to read about the opinion of others, especially on occassions of “Days” that are celebrated dime a dozen these days, starting from rose day to hug day.
Indian women have started to share their voices, about condition of women, they paint the painful condition of Indian women, but dont realize one thing, most of the Indian women treat themselves as human beings, worthy of being treated as one, it’s no wonder others abuse them too.
Indian women are fed from childhood that they should sacrifice at every sphere of life, they will give up their food, to feed men, they will give up their dreams, so that men can have theirs, they should give their comfort, so that men could have a little extra comfort… Indian men on the other hand firmly believe that they have some divine right to have all those special treatments.
The tragic part is, these men take birth from the womb of a woman, that woman is the one who teaches him the ways of world in his first few years, then only is he handed over to the world, even then, till a boy grows up to be a teenager he certainly (if he is not a weird fellow) holds his mother in a very special place, some do that all life long, so, if he fails to respect women, treat them right, a lot responsibility lies with the mother. I have seen fierce warriors of women’s right brazenly licking boots of chauvinist men at home, abusing women with them.
So, in place of celebrating the day with greeting cards, make it real, become a human being :), treat yourself like one and make others treat you like one, or else give them the dose of their own medicine and see how quickly tragedy queen becomes real human being.
