Friday Fury 25.7.14

When I was growing up I used to be scared of the absolute silence of night. Even in Delhi, there were few hours of absolute silence. When the world felt like “toomb”? That was the hour when I silently begged for any signs of human movement outside, the whistle of the nightwatchman was mostly the only relief.

Where are those hours?

  1. When I was a little boy I was afraid of the noise that came from of the activity of the chimney sweep. He dropped a steel ball with a broom attached down the chimney and hauled it up again. When the ball hit the brick wall of the chimney it made a rumbling noise. I knew what it was, but this did not help at all. It made me afraid.

  2. When I was in high school, I got up in the middle of the night and rode my bike out along the highway a few times. I didn’t tell my parents, so it probably wasn’t a smart idea, but it was interesting to be out when no one else was.

    1. i have done that for years, i used to get up at four in the morning and go out with my bicycle, i was absolutely insane, the only company i had were truckers that zoomed past and people say that the world is full of psychos… ha! or were people far better back than?
