Tomorrow is my 46th birthday, I was born on 17th July 1969, so I guess it is actually my 46th birthday not 45th, right?
The first house of my childhood that I distinctly remember is visible from railway tracks if you travel to Delhi/Agra from Kolkata or travel to Kolkata from Delhi 🙂
It is so tiny! but with small legs of childhood it seemed huge! To add up, a hundred meter or so away started a stretch of barren lands, that went upto the next station Etmadpur (if I am correct), we used to take walk with our dogs every evening to Etmadpur, how safer were the days back then, right?
Only five kids and two dogs sometimes three dogs! Our eldest sister never joined our outings, ever!
I believe my love for nature started with those journeys! we encountered so many cute things there, peacocks, velvet bugs, that look like lady bugs but their wings are covered with a velvet like thing, that looks and feels like velvet and are absolutely dazzling red in colour. They came out after rain.
I saw my only wild peacock dance there, it is a sight you never forget!
