Melodies from moonlit nights
Every day I used to walk past you
you stood there with beauty and grace,
sky visible through your fine leaves,
sometimes deep blue, sometimes gray.
I never noticed when you got laden
with buds when the spring came;
One day I just looked at you
and saw crimson has overtaken.
Your leaves have been covered
by burning flames of crimson!
What a glorious vision
for each and every beholder.
I stared at that beauty divine
for the longest time!
Then I walked away reluctantly
already aching to return.
