(Continued from last 4 weeks)
Now, my friends know how I went “Ooh and Aah” when I first shifted into this flat, it truly is an amazing flat if you are a millionaire, that is, you can afford multiple air-conditioners and car, otherwise it is a little tough place to live in, almost impossible without the a.c. or a big bank balance to modify the house.
Most of the flats are unoccupied in this entire housing society, most probably lower income or middle income groups can’t afford it, for the extra expenses they will have to bear other than the rents and maintenance charges (A.C., Geyser, Car or two wheeler and their expenses). The rich people will stick to posh parts of town, they certainly won’t love to live in a place where there are no restaurants are discotheques around!
So the builders occupied a huge piece of land and transformed that into a massive housing society but apparently could not get many buyers, or maybe the buyers live away from here, that is quite possible too, the locked up houses are left behind.
Somehow I am a bit suspicious that the houses are unsold. No wonder the entire city is covered with concrete and boils in summer. Too many houses not enough residents!
Still when I go to roof I see at least two more high-rises shooting upwards in horizon. Forget about smaller constructions.
