Chanakya Neeti 13

Water born from earth is pure, so is a chaste woman, a benevolent king is pure and an easily satisfied Brahmin.

Back in middle ages when Chanakya lived a benevolent king and an easily satisfied Brahmin were quite rare. Back then holder both of these ranks were notorious for insatiable greed, But if you go by books, both of these are supposed to be just like Chanakya said, a king should be benevolent, because the first king was elected by his subjects to protect, serve them not suck them dry! Such was the case of the first Brahmin too, he pursued knowledge, wisdom not money, wealth!

So, we all can say he was right, right?

Chanakya was the mentor, guide and prime minister of Emperor Chandragupta Maurya. His words were very wise when it came to explaining human nature and ways of actual world.

As I am too engrossed with my twins (agnishatdalezine.wordpress.com and agnijaat.wordpress.com- check them out guys, my twin Ezines Agnishatdal and Agnijaat) I will use him as my own and your teacher for at least a couple of months. Hope you will benefit too!

  1. In many countries the elected leaders think they have been elected so they can enrich themselves. Even here in Australia, which prides itself on the rule of law, politicians constantly are getting in trouble because they use their position to find loopholes to make some money on the side. The same politicians say pensioners are shamelessly ripping off the country. It never ends.

  2. Very well said.Whenever a person deviates from his duties…he is adulterated…and sure to fall….be it a King or a Brahmin….only integrity can ensure long-term sustenance and prosperity…
