If you read the biography of Chanakya you will be quite interested to know what went inside his mind, he created one of the greatest empires of ancient India, which many historians say would not have happened had he not mentored Chandragupta Maurya. After that, he stayed with the emperor till the end, I don’t know who died first, it must have been him because he was most probably the older one! So, he created an emperor out of nothing but never became jealous of his accomplishments, actually through-out his life he helped Chandragupta in building an exemplary empire.
He was so respected by the emperor that stories say that Chandragupta never disobeyed him, not even once in his life. That must have been some hold! That trust was not used for personal gain by Chanakya. The same story books say he lived in the palace compound but like a sage- that is he ate frugally, wore the cheapest clothes, slept on floor etc etc!
Don’t you wonder what went inside his mind? I do! If I could go back to past and meet people there he would have been one of them, but as I don’t know Sanskrit… it would have been useless because it is his mind that I am interested in not his looks!
Maybe, if they first invent a good translator… then I will hop in!
